Rafael Vergara, MD, is board certified in pediatrics with areas of interest in allergies, asthma, development/behavior and ADHD. Born and raised in Colombia, Dr. Vergara moved to Orange County after completing medical school in his home country. He completed pediatric residency training at UCI Medical Center/Long Beach Memorial. My daughter has been sick with 103 fever, shivers and not wanting to eat or drink for 4 days.we went to the hositpal and they only gave us Tylenol and Motrin.. we were able to see her pediatrician yesterday and with a couple looks he cold us what he thought it was... to come see him the next day if she still had a fever: This morning I received a call from him checking on us, we went in for our follow up and he said he woke up thinking about her and how she was doing today: I can not describe how good it feels to know you picked the right provider for your little one.Ps: his diagnosis was right. she ended up having the rash shortly after.. it was so frustrating that all providers kept passing it on as respiratory virusIf you're looking for a pediatrician his name is Dr.Rafael Vergara

We will be returning for future pediatric visits with Dr. Vergara. He is very good with my toddler son. He spent a good amount of time with us answering my questions and providing suggestions. My son was a little nervous going into the appointment but skipped away after, all smiles.

I like that this Dr. Vergara explains things throughly he also seems very knowledgeable. However, I don’t like that he doesn’t take into consideration, parents suggestions. I like to suggest certain things as far as getting peace of mind if he does bloodwork on my child but he doesn’t seem to think he should get bloodwork. It’s just my opinion.

It was weird that he only wanted to wash and use his right hand to examine our child. He didn't want to wash his left hand or take it out of his pocket without any explanation. Looks like he hesitated in taking off the diaper, and then decided not to examine down there because that would require using his other hand.

I had a disappointing experience with this doctor. He came across as dismissive, judgmental, and completely lacking in empathy. A doctor should be supportive and have basic compassion, but that was not the case here.

Very unprofessional and not friendly at all! He didn’t say hello or tell us who he is. It was out first time meeting him. Not informative at all and made us felt rushed. He made comment about our insurance plan. He left the room without telling us the examination was done and we just sat there not knowing what to do next. We would never recommend him!

Condescending, dismissive. Could not diagnose our child's feeding issues but refused to refer our child to a specialist, until I adamantly pressed for it after the initial refusal. (Specialist was able to diagnose exact cause). Overall terrible. Luckily I am in healthcare and could advocate for my child's needs.

Impeccably dressed and well put together. If the visit were a fashion show, he'd be 4 stars.In regards to visiting him as a doctor, however, he's ridiculously arrogant and condescending so anything else is moot, honestly. If having a physician who listens to your child's actual issues is high on the list of importance for you, let me do you a favor and advise you to pick another doctor. Luckily there are lots in HB. I wish I had seen the other one star reviews prior.Visiting with him the couple of times we did, the vibe is def that he is not on the same team and is almost in opposition, it's so incredibly weird and I've not encountered this before. Loves to hear himself speak and prefers if you wouldn't. I mean, cool I guess. Just not the right fit for us lol

This pediatrician is rude, impatient. There was almost no communication between him and my kid, not even saying hi and goodbye. He spent most of the time taping his computer and acted in such a hurry that make it look like he needed to get this done ASAP to catch a plane even we were on time for the appointment.

This doctor is terrible. As a pediatrician, he had almost no interaction with my kid from entering the patient room to his left (no saying hi and bye to the kid). He hasn't even tried to communicate with my kid and the only thing he did is trying to touch the kid's face once, which was so rude and scared my kid. In the whole process, this doctor was trying to deny the kid's claim that he is hurt and claimed that this is only because the kid's behavior is not sophisticated enough. Most of the time of our visit, this doctor was taping his computer and kept his eye on the screen. He acted in such an impatient way and it almost liked put "I don't care" on his forehead.
