About
I chose Obstetrics and Gynecology because of the diversity my field offers. I can follow a woman from adolescence, through childbirth, then into menopause. Few specialties allow you to have this kind of closeness and continuity with your patients. We treasure having a group that provides very personalized care.
A graduate of the UCI School of Medicine, Dr. Lopez did her postgraduate training at UCI Medical Center in Orange. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Lopez has served as Chairman of Saddleback Memorial's Women and Children's Case Review committee and Subsection Chief of Women's and Children's Services. She continues to serve on both the Case Review and Credentialing committees.
Dr. Lopez is a resident of Orange County and currently lives in Mission Viejo with her husband and her two children. She speaks both English and Spanish.

The best visit I've had in my life! The free parking right infront of the building is an unmatched experience right off the bat. The new building is incredible - clean, calm, and spacious. It was easy to locate the office and they greeted me quickly and kindly. I arrived a few minutes early and was amazed how quickly my name was called almost immediately. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Dr. Lopez is always great and actually looks at you in the eye when addressing any concerns or questions. I was in and out in under 30 minutes!!

She really listened to me and is helping determine which hormone treatment is best for me. She is very responsive to messaging through the patient portal, and that is so important when you have concerns or follow up questions. I'm really glad I found her - it's so hard to find doctors you can trust, especially when you have an HMO and your choices can be limited!

I usually take a xanex prior to my appointment but, I do not think I will be needing it the second time. We need more healthcare providers like Dr. Lopez. The absolute best care I have ever received. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Lopez and the entire labor and delivery team at Saddleback Hospital. Although Dr. Lopez was not my original OB, she was the on call doctor for the time I was at the hospital and she helped deliver my daughter. Dr. Lopez was encouraging, caring, and a wonderful doctor. She made me feel at ease and we were able to have a successful delivery. I had some complications, but Dr. Lopez remained calm and helped stabilize me very quickly. She was beyond amazing and I am so grateful to her!

Dr. Rachel Lopez has been my doctor for many years and is wonderful. At today’s visit I showed her a raised lump under the skin of my wrist. She immediately contacted a colleague who recommend that I go to the ER. I’m glad I went to the ER where I got an ultrasound and was evaluated by a vascular surgeon so that this problem could be addressed in a timely manner. She is intelligent, hard-working, and has a wonderful bedside manner.

She doesn't care much about patients, failed to explain things, and pushed for expensive tests to make money. She recommended two costly genetic tests without explaining what they were or their cost. We later discovered we could have had these tests for free through the California screening program. She didn't inform us of this option, which was her duty. Appointments and tests were scheduled as quickly as possible, clearly to maximize her profit. Avoid early appointments before week 11 due to the high miscarriage risk. I had genetic tests when the embryo was already dead, which we didn’t realize due to poor timing. They pressured me into more expensive consultations and surgery, but I chose to wait for a natural miscarriage, which was less risky and free. Avoid her if you want a doctor who genuinely cares about patients and not money.
