Philip Simmons, DO, pursued his medical education at A.T. Still – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete his residency in family medicine at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn. His decision to embark on a medical career was rooted in his desire to help others and being inspired by his own doctor growing up. His choice to specialize in family medicine aligns with his enthusiasm for versatility, as he enjoys the opportunity to engage in a wide range of medical disciplines and assist his patients in establishing a medical home.
One of Dr. Simmons' greatest joys in medicine is helping individuals attain their personal health objectives and ensuring his patients have a comprehensive understanding of their healthcare plan moving forward. He values collaborative decision-making, involving both patients and their medical team in shaping their course of treatment.
Dr. Simmons grew up in Orange, California. Outside of medicine, he cherishes quality time spent with his family, which includes his wife, daughter, and a faithful canine companion. He also enjoys cycling, hiking, and honing his culinary skills in the kitchen.

He's very thorough. Listened with interest. Made notes. Came up with a layered plan. Threw out a possible explanation. Felt like a 2 -way street conversation. Dr. Simmons is very pleasant, funny, and takes the time to listen to concerns, and not rushing you out so he can see his next patient. Based on lab tests, he offers recommendations but does not force them. He is genuinely interested in partnering with patients to achieve their health goals.The medical facility at MemorialCare is clean and modern. For convenience, it also has a lab for routine tests. Parking is a breeze, even for the non-handicapped spaces. Communicating with the doctor is easy and convenient through the MyChart app and website.My mother is also his patient and loves him.I would definitely recommend Dr. Simmons for anyone looking for a primary care provider.

Great when I actually got into the exam room. The horrible part of Memorial Care facilities is getting through the long boring recordings followed by wait, wait, wait, only to then connect with an operator who is not even in the building that Dr. Simmons works in. Why can I not be connected directly with Dr. Simmons office? Why? It ridiculous. This horrible experience time after time brings me to searching for a practice where the person who answers the phone knows I am a patient of the Doctor and acts accordingly.

Forgot to DiagnoseHe is friendly and attentive but forgot to swab some open wounds I had from blisters. 2 months later, a doctor at urgenty care, swab it the blister. I had mrsa. It has been a nightmare since then. I asked his nurse to put in touch with his manager to discuss the matter. No one ever called. Then, I fired him. Very unprofessional of Memorial Care.
