For Kimberly Aguilar, NP, nursing was all in the family. “Both my grandmother and mother were registered nurses, and I had a passion at a young age to be a nurse practitioner,” she recalls. “I wanted to specialize in family practice because I enjoy helping people of all ages.”
Aguilar spent six years working as a registered nurse in emergency care and inpatient cardiac care before going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. She says, “I get the most satisfaction when I can help patients improve their pain, cholesterol, blood pressure, and diabetes. I want them to live long and healthy lives and improve their quality of life. It is important for patients to know that I want them to feel comfortable and that I respect their individuality and preferences. I enjoy working together to meet their needs and goals.”
A longtime resident of Orange County, Aguilar also has a degree in cosmetology. In her free time, she enjoys watching her two children play sports. She and her husband also enjoy watching baseball games, listening to live music and going on hikes.
