Kathryce J Jones, NP

Kathryce Jones, NP is a nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine. “I discovered my passion for nursing while volunteering at Laguna Honda Hospital in San Francisco, one of the largest publicly owned skilled nursing facilities in the country,” she says. “I began volunteering in high school and continued each summer during college at the University of California, Irvine. Caring for older adults and building meaningful relationships with patients inspired my interest in primary care and gerontology, and showed me the value of long-term, compassionate care.”

Kathryce cares for patients of all ages. “I find the most professional satisfaction in helping patients from young to old navigate complex health conditions and medications in a way that is safe, effective, and easy to understand. I take a holistic approach by focusing not only on treatment, but also on education and lifestyle changes working closely with patients and families to adapt care plans when life circumstances affect their health.”

Kathryce grew up in the Bay area but has lived in many parts of the country, including Northern and Southern California, the Midwest, and the East Coast. “I also have close family ties in the Southern US,” she notes. “Living in and connecting with diverse communities has shaped the way I approach care and helps me relate to patients from many different backgrounds.”

Before pursuing nursing, Kathryce earned a degree in neurobiology, which built a strong foundation in scientific thinking. 

“I want my patients to know that my approach to care is grounded in science and evidence-based medicine,” she states. “As such, I stay current with emerging research and best practices. I believe in shared decision-making and partnership with patients, so they feel informed and confident in their care.”

Outside of medicine, Kathryce enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, reading and attending concerts. “I also enjoy crocheting amigurumi, the Japanese art of creating yarn creatures and toys,” she adds.
