Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Kariya decided to enter medicine when she witnessed a family member diagnosed with an illness and going through the treatment.
That experience played a role in why it's important to me to get to know each of my patients as a whole person.

We reviewed a procedure done earlier in the week. follow up on her skin irritation, burnt off two weeks ago. Blood pressure pressure was taken and I received two injections for protection from the flu and pneumonia.

I have had this doctor for about a year. I thought that she genuinely cared about me as her patient, but that is definitely as you will find out it's not the case. She's very slow at getting back with urgent messages. She was not thorough. I had to come back for a second appointment, which I was late to because of really heavy traffic on the 405 at 7:40 in the morning. She does not care if you reschedule your appointment even if you have several times waited over an hour for her. Just keep that in mind are looking for a doctor. I'm very disappointed and it's disheartening to be honest with you. As a single mom to pull the strings on a school morning to have a babysitter come and have my kids stay home and wait to go to school late so that I can show up to this appointment. Trust me when I tell you this doctor does not care about her patient health their situation. Nothing. Again, if you have urgent stuff that needs to be responded to right away don't count on her to get back to you for at least three days or more.
