About
David S. Chun, M.D., is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. He always wanted to be a physician and follow in the footsteps of his father, who is an OB/GYN. During medical school, he met David Ferry, M.D., a pediatric cardiologist in Encino. “He was my mentor during residency,” Dr. Chun recalls. “His passion for pediatric cardiology was infectious. He was a great influence in my career path.”
One of Dr. Chun’s favorite aspects of pediatric cardiology is the positive difference he makes in his patients’ lives.
“It brings me great satisfaction to see these children grow and develop to their best potential. I am my patients’ cardiac health advocate and will partner with my patient and their families to guide them in their cardiovascular health journey.”
Dr. Chun was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the U.S. as a toddler. He grew up in Southern California and obtained most of his medical training locally: Dr. Chun is a graduate of Pomona College, where he received his undergraduate degree in Biology. He then attended the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, earning his medical degree. Dr. Chun served his internship and completed his residency training in pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Finally, he left California to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis for a special interest in non-invasive imaging, including transesophageal and fetal echocardiography.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chun describes himself as an avid golfer and occasional fisherman. “I actually had one hole-in-one in my lifetime,” he notes. In addition, Dr. Chun loves to travel and go on food adventures with his wife.
