About
Cindy Zia, M.D. worked as a family medicine physician for well over a decade before joining MemorialCare. Medicine appealed to her as a career for several reasons. “I wanted to be able to help people using science,” she says. “I believe it is truly an honor to be the doctor taking care of a whole family.”
Dr. Zia says she gets the most satisfaction from her work when her partnerships with patients result in their improved health. “It’s important to me that patients know that I enjoy building relationships with them that positively impact their well-being.”
Dr. Zia grew up in Taiwan and lived in Iowa for six months before moving with her family to Southern California. When she is not practicing medicine, she volunteers at her children’s Mandarin immersion school. She also enjoys watching Korean dramas and learning Korean.

My visit at Irvine Barranca with Dr. Zia was very pleasant! The FOA’s, especially Ahtyanna and Virginia made me feel welcomed and greeted me with warm smiles. Dr. Zia is interactive and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. It made my visit a smooth and nice experience!

Dr Zia was friendly, efficient and compassionate. She walked me through test results and answered all my questions, without making me feel like she had one foot out the door to her next appointment. This was my first appointment with D. Zia as my regular doctor is on maternity leave. I would recommend her to my friends and family.

She was nice, but I felt that her exam was very short and incomplete. This was my first time with her for an annual physical, but she skipped so many things that are usually done during a physical, including checking the ears with an otoscope, breast exam, etc, etc. I used to be a PA, so I know how a physical should be done, and I regret to say that it felt like she was just going through the motions.

I wasn't aware that our appointment was being recorded. The word(s) "being recorded" were never used. I would never have agreed to her "using her phone" if I knew I was being recorded. If you can't do your job without illegally recording someone, maybe you should look I to another profession.
