Benjamin M Weinberg, MD

Benjamin Weinberg, MD is a respected gastroenterologist with 25 years of experience in the field. He previously served as medical director of MemorialCare’s Digestive Care Center. “Since I was a child, I have loved the idea of applying science to help people,” he says. “Nothing brings me greater joy than having daily interactions as a physician with patients and helping them better understand, manage, and control their conditions and diseases.”

In addition to treating patients, Dr. Weinberg has been engaged as a Principal Investigator and Study Coordinator in numerous research projects. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences on his findings. What gives Dr. Weinberg the most professional satisfaction?

Dr. Weinberg is double boarded in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He grew up in a small coastal town south of Boston, and earned his degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and Fellowship at University of California, Los Angeles-affiliated programs. Before deciding on a career in medicine, Dr. Weinberg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Dartmouth College.

In his off hours, Dr. Weinberg enjoys spending time with his family, exercising by running and weight-lifting, and outdoor activities like hiking, fishing and skiing. As a former studio art major, he also enjoys oil painting.
