A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Emad Mikhail, M.D. is a Board-certified Internal Medicine physician passionately committed to advancing the health of his patients through education and collaboration. He envisions himself as a guide informing patients of their health risks, educating them on the consequences of those risks, explaining the latest recommendations and advances in science and therapies available, and then making a recommendation regarding what he believes they should do.
I advise my patients as if I were counseling my own family member on what to do. After that, I believe in the autonomy of my patients. I respect their viewpoints based on their backgrounds and experience and leave treatment decisions up to them.
Dr. Mikhail prides himself on running his practice as a concierge practice without the concierge prices. This means that messages will be answered and refills ordered within 24 hour- 48 hours. He makes sure to remain easily accessible and always insists upon the highest standard of care. As part of his practice philosophy, he believes that nutrition and exercise are the keys to preventive health.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Mikhail enjoys spending time with his family, including their dogs Fred and Roxy. He also enjoys golfing (when his wife lets him). The family also volunteers at the Midnight Mission in Los Angeles.

We were seen promptly. Dr Mikhail listened & gave good advices for getting us to improve our lives. Fortunately we are healthy & trying to better ourselves as we are aging.

The worst doctor I have ever seen. He doesn't have patience to talk even for 5 mins. That's all the time he took for my appointment. He is so angry and showed on his face when I had a doubt and asked him to clarify some things again. I was so depressed after my appointment with him. Never ever gonna visit him again.

I am not sure why I stuck with this doctor for this long. As far as I have known him he has been extremely condescending and has always been quick to dismiss my thoughts about the condition I am experiencing during the office visits. Knowing that I cannot count on him too much I have learnt over the years to take care of my health by educating myself and doing my own research for self care.This week after suffering from severe cramps and abdominal pain for 4 days of constipation I pulled myself to go see him hoping that he would help diagnose an underlying condition. Although completely disappointed it wasn’t very surprising when all he did was tell me what I already knew that I am constipated and prescribed the 2 over the counter medications MiraLax and Colace. After taking this for three days I was still bloated and hurting with pain and no relief. When I called his office to message the doctor if I should do anything different, the clerk calls back saying the doctor wants me to go to the ER so they could do a CT scan. This was not an emergency situation. Why would the doctor tell me to go to the ER to get a CT scan when he could order it directly for me at a lab to do the diagnosis himself. The doctor didn’t even bother to get on the phone and talk to me, a patient of 20+ years to show that he even cares.

New staff (again). Every time I go into the office for an appointment or call to make an appointment, there is new staff. Always. The staff is borderline unfriendly, unhelpful, and do not seem to be educated in their job. The doctor is cold, and all buisness - zero bedside manner.

The doctor is fine, but the staff is terrible. If you have any urgent matters, please don't call Yasenia. She wouldn't even care if you were on your deathbed.
